Topping out ceremony for new school
A ceremony was held to mark the highest point of building work on a new school for pupils with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties (BESD) in South Gloucestershire. The New Horizons Learning Centre will offer secondary provision onsite at Mulberry Drive in Kingswood.
Cllr Sheila Cook, South Gloucestershire Council’s executive member for children and young people, said: “It is great to see the building take shape because we have a duty to ensure all young people have the best start to life, this school will offer a fantastic learning environment closer to their homes.”
The 35 place secondary school will provide up-to-date general and specialist spaces internally and externally with sports and recreational facilities.
