Manor Fields Primary School completed
June 2009
Completed in February, Manor Fields was officially opened on Tuesday June 9th 2009. The new building was built on the playing fields of a dilapidated Middle School, and was the final phase in the Salisbury three-tier review to replace the former lower, middle and upper school system with a two-tier primary and secondary system. The new building, with a cost of £3.1m, provides 9 classrooms for up to 230 pupils. 2 classrooms are dedicated as a Special Learning Centre, providing SEN facilities for the local area. The areas have been zoned to facilitate community use, without compromising the security of the school. The school has achieved a 'Very Good' BREEAM rating, with features including natural ventilation throughout, rainwater collection, and a combined heat & power (CHP) plant.

15 years of DKA
July 2008
In July 2008 DKA celebrated its 15th year of trading. DKA was formed in 1993 by directors David Kent and Jay Gidman. Working its way out of the economic recession, the practice started modestly with a team of three and occupied only part of the ground floor of the Malt House. It soon expanded however, partly as a result of winning work in the defence and health sectors, and by 2003 had refurbished and occupied the whole ground floor and mezzanine.
The practice has gone from strength to strength since those early days and now employs nearly 20 architects, technical and support staff.

A fresh new look
July 2008
DKA has launched a new branding to celebrate it’s 15th anniversary. Formed in 1993, DKA originally employed six people but has grown to nearly 40 over the last 15 years. To keep pace with the progress of the practice and to reflect its development and growth DKA appointed Robin King of Redbreast Design to oversee an overhaul of the DKA brand.
“DKA has always performed as a coherent and contemporarybusiness and the time had come for their brand to mirror this. Their new brand will provide them with a strong and distinct image to support their philosophy.” Robin King
