Badminton Road achieves
Breeam 'Excellent'

DKA, working closely with Kier Western, have recently completed the new headquarters building for South Gloucestershire Council and achieved the presitigious BREEAM sustainability rating of 'Excellent'. The scheme co-locates a range of the Council's administrative operations from around the Borough, providing a permanent home for up to 1200 staff in one centralised building in Yate, near Bristol. Designed to last for 60 years, this flagship building forms a significant 'gateway' on the route to Yate from Bristol, helping to define the edge of the town. It incorporates a wide range of ecological and sustainability features including rainwater harvesting, extensive landscaping, exposed thermal mass cooling, acoustic and solar control elements. Other features of note are the highly landscaped site with an extensive planting scheme.
